Frequently asked questions
What is a factor?
A whole number that divides another exactly, with no remainder. The factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12.
How do I know if a number is prime?
A prime has exactly two factors: 1 and itself. The result shows whether that is the case.
What is a perfect number?
One equal to the sum of its factors other than itself, such as 6 (1 + 2 + 3) and 28.
