kWh Calculator

Enter the appliance’s power, hours of use per day and number of days to get kWh. The rate per kWh is optional and you enter it yourself.

Check the appliance label.

Between 0 and 24 hours.

How many days the appliance is used.

RM

Optional. Use the rate from your electricity bill.

This result is an estimate only. Check with your bank or the relevant authority before making decisions.

How it is calculated

  • kWh = watts × hours ÷ 1000
  • Total kWh = daily kWh × number of days
  • Cost = total kWh × the rate you enter

The rate is optional. If it is empty, the cost shows as RM 0.00.

Worked example

An appliance of 1500 W, 8 hours a day, for 30 days:

  • 1500 × 8 ÷ 1000 = 12 kWh per day
  • 12 × 30 = 360 kWh
  • If the rate you enter is RM 0.50 per kWh: 360 × 0.50 = RM 180.00

Why your number may differ

Use the rate from your electricity bill, because tariffs are tiered, so a single rate is only an estimate.
