Pressure Converter

Pick a value and two units to convert pressure, and see it in every unit at once.

A pressure in the unit you choose from.

This result is an estimate only. Double-check important figures before relying on them.

How it is calculated

  • Every value is first converted to pascals, then into the unit you choose
  • 1 atm = 101,325 Pa, 1 bar = 100,000 Pa, 1 psi = 6,894.757 Pa
  • 1 mmHg = 133.322 Pa and 1 torr = 101,325 ÷ 760 Pa

For the force behind a pressure, use the force calculator.

Worked example

1 atmosphere:

  • = 101.325 kPa
  • = 14.69595 psi
  • = 1.01325 bar

Why your number may differ

Gauge pressure (above the air around you) and absolute pressure (above a vacuum) differ by about 1 atm. This converter changes units only and does not add or remove that offset.

Frequently asked questions

How many psi is 1 bar?

1 bar is about 14.5038 psi. A car tyre at 2.2 bar is about 32 psi.

What is standard atmospheric pressure?

1 atmosphere is exactly 101,325 pascals, about 14.696 psi, 760 mmHg or 1.01325 bar.

Are mmHg and torr the same?

They are nearly the same. A torr is exactly 1/760 of an atmosphere, while a millimetre of mercury is very slightly different.
