Sizing systems are not standardised across brands, and children’s sizes follow different scales. Treat the result as a starting point.
Frequently asked questions
How do I measure my foot?
Stand with your heel against a wall on a sheet of paper, mark the longest toe and measure from the wall to the mark. Do both feet and use the longer one.
Are these sizes exact?
No. They come from common conversion formulas. Brands, lasts and styles differ by half a size or more. Check the brand's own chart, especially for sports shoes.
Should I add room for my toes?
Yes. Most people want about 1 cm of room beyond the longest toe, which is partly built into shoe sizes.
