This result is an estimate only. Check with your bank or the relevant authority before making decisions.
How it is calculated
SOCSO First Category (employment injury and invalidity): the employer pays 1.75% and the employee 0.5%. Second Category (employment injury only): the employer pays 1.25% and the employee pays nothing. EIS: 0.2% from the employer and 0.2% from the employee.
Actual amounts come from PERKESO’s RM100 wage bands. The wage ceiling has been RM6,000 since 1 October 2024; wages above that pay the RM6,000 amount.
Worked example
A wage of RM3,000, First Category with EIS:
Employee: SOCSO RM14.75 + EIS RM5.90 = RM20.65
Employer: SOCSO RM51.65 + EIS RM5.90 = RM57.55
Why your number may differ
You may have chosen the wrong category. Wages above the RM6,000 ceiling do not add to the contribution. Wage items that are not contributable will also change the wage that counts.
