How dividends are estimated
Each month, that month’s minimum balance is recorded.
Monthly savings are added during the month but only count from the following month.
At year end: dividend = sum of the 12 minimum balances × distribution rate ÷ 12.
The dividend is reinvested into the account.
Worked example
RM10,000 initial savings, RM200 a month, 5% distribution rate a year, for 10 years:
Total you saved: RM34,000
Total dividends: RM13,167.67
Final savings value: RM47,167.67
Why your number may differ
ASB distribution rates are announced every year and vary; this calculator uses one fixed rate. If you took ASB financing, its interest or profit cost is not included here.
Frequently asked questions
How are ASB dividends calculated?
ASB dividends are based on the minimum balance of each month. Money deposited mid-month only starts counting from the following month.
What is the maximum ASB investment?
The ASB investment limit is RM300,000 (300,000 units). This calculator stops adding monthly savings once the limit is reached.
Are dividends reinvested automatically?
This calculator assumes dividends are reinvested each year, so they add to the balance and earn dividends the following year.
