Use your home tariff or the price shown by the public charger. Prices change, so enter your own.

kWh/100 km

Optional. From your car’s trip computer.

This result is an estimate only. Check with your bank or the relevant authority before making decisions.

How it is calculated

  • Energy stored = battery × (end % − start %)
  • Energy drawn = energy stored ÷ efficiency
  • Cost = energy drawn × price per kWh
  • Cost per km = consumption ÷ 100 × price ÷ efficiency

For your home bill, use the electricity bill calculator.

Worked example

A 60 kWh battery from 20% to 80% at 90% efficiency and RM0.50 per kWh:

  • Stored 36 kWh, drawn 40 kWh
  • Cost = RM20.00

Why your number may differ

Fast charging is slower and loses more near full charge. Battery age and temperature change real efficiency.

Frequently asked questions

How is the charging cost worked out?

Energy added to the battery divided by the charging efficiency gives the energy drawn from the supply, which is then multiplied by the price per kWh.

Why is some energy lost?

The charger and the battery turn some electricity into heat. This is why you pay for more energy than the battery receives.

Where do I find the price?

At home it is your electricity tariff. At public chargers the price per kWh is shown on the app or charger. Both change over time.
