Enter the trip distance and the litres of fuel used to get L/100 km and km/L. The price per litre is optional and you enter it yourself.
Result
This result is an estimate only. Check with your bank or the relevant authority before making decisions.
How it is calculated
L/100 km = litres ÷ distance × 100
km/L = distance ÷ litres
Cost per km = litres × price per litre ÷ distance
The price is optional. If it is empty, the cost per km shows as RM 0.00.
Worked example
A 500 km trip using 35 litres:
35 ÷ 500 × 100 = 7.00 L/100 km
500 ÷ 35 = 14.29 km/L
If you enter a sample price of RM 2.05 per litre: 35 × 2.05 ÷ 500 = 0.1435, which is RM 0.14 per km
Why your number may differ
For a more realistic figure, fill the tank to full twice (the tank-to-tank method): fill up, drive, then fill up again and use the litres from the second fill. The price above is a sample you enter yourself, not an actual price.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate fuel consumption?
Divide the litres used by the distance, then multiply by 100 for L/100 km. For km/L, divide the distance by the litres.
What is the tank-to-tank method?
Fill the tank to full, drive, then fill to full again. The litres added the second time are the fuel used for that distance.
Do I need to enter a price?
No. The price is optional and is only used to work out the cost per kilometre.
