This result is an estimate only. Check with your bank or the relevant authority before making decisions.

How it is calculated

  1. Unit price = price ÷ quantity, for each product
  2. The product with the lower unit price is the cheaper one
  3. Saving (%) = (higher unit price − lower unit price) ÷ higher unit price × 100, and 0 if they are the same

Use the same unit for both products (kg, g or pieces).

Worked example

Product A costs RM12.90 for 1.5 units and product B costs RM8.50 for 0.9 units:

  1. Unit price of A: RM8.60
  2. Unit price of B: RM9.44
  3. Product A is cheaper
  4. Saving: (9.4444 − 8.60) ÷ 9.4444 = 8.94%

Why your number may differ

Make sure both quantities use the same unit. If one is in kg and the other in g, the result will be wrong.
