How it is calculated

Catering = number of guests × catering per guest
Total spending = catering + mas kahwin and hantaran + venue + photography + attire + other
Budget remaining = budget − total spending (negative if over budget)
Cost per guest = total spending ÷ number of guests (0 if there are no guests)

All amounts are your own estimates. Mas kahwin rates are set by each state’s religious authority; check with your state.

Worked example

Budget RM30,000, 300 guests, catering RM35 per guest, hantaran RM10,000, venue RM3,000, photography RM3,000, attire RM3,000, other RM2,000:

Catering: 300 × RM35 = RM10,500
Total spending: RM31,500
Budget remaining: −RM1,500 (over budget)
Cost per guest: RM105
