This result is an estimate only. Double-check important figures before relying on them.

How it is calculated

  • Every value is first converted to millilitres, then into the unit you choose
  • 1 tsp = 5 ml, 1 tbsp = 15 ml, 1 metric cup = 250 ml, 1 US cup = 236.588 ml

For scaling a whole recipe, use the recipe scaler.

Worked example

1 metric cup:

  • = 250 ml
  • = 16.7 tbsp, or 50 tsp

Why your number may differ

Spoon and cup sizes differ by country. An Australian tablespoon is 20 ml, and a Japanese cup is 200 ml. Use the unit your recipe was written in.
