Many resins must be poured in thin layers, so check your product for its maximum depth.

Mix ratio by volume (resin : hardener)
Advanced
%
g/ml

About 1.1 g/ml for typical epoxy. Check the data sheet.

This result is an estimate only. Double-check important figures before relying on them.

How it is calculated

  • Mold volume (ml) = length × width × depth (cm)
  • Total = volume × (1 + waste %)
  • Part A = total × A ÷ (A + B), Part B = total × B ÷ (A + B)

For odd shapes, work out their volume with the soil volume calculator and enter the closest box.

Worked example

A 20 × 10 × 0.5 cm mold with 10% extra and a 1:1 ratio:

  • Mold 100 ml, mix 110 ml
  • 55 ml resin and 55 ml hardener, about 121 g

Why your number may differ

Products differ in mix ratio, cure time and layer depth. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and mix exactly, because a wrong ratio can stay sticky.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate the resin I need?

Multiply length × width × depth in centimetres to get millilitres, then add 5% to 15% for what clings to cups and tools.

Is the mix ratio by volume or weight?

It depends on your product. This tool splits by volume. If yours is by weight, use the grams result with the weight ratio.

What if I pour in layers?

Calculate each layer on its own, because each coat has its own depth and extra.
